PSF Grid: 9 × 7 cells, each showing the bokeh of a point light at that position in the frame. Each row is one depth, far at the top to near at the bottom, over the span set by Depth Range (depth values pulled toward 0.5). Focus picks the depth in focus, and that row shrinks to points; Iris Radius and Field Curvature set the size of the other rows’ discs. Every cell is shown at the same brightness so the shape reads: coma, astigmatism, Impression’s rims, cat’s eyes and chromatic aberration all change with position in the frame and with the side of focus.
Lights: point lights at random depths, brightnesses and colours. Rack Focus through them: the farther a light is from the plane of focus, the larger and dimmer its disc (light is conserved). Pixel-sized controls refer to a 1280-wide frame, the same as a 1280-wide timeline in the plugin.
Photo: renders the bokeh on your photo with the current controls, as the plugin would with it as the Source. Depth can be one plane for the whole frame (Plane Depth), a gradient from far at the top to near at the bottom, or an uploaded depth map (a capture of Resolve’s Depth Map output works). An iPhone Portrait HEIC brings its embedded depth map with it. Boost Highlights brightens highlights according to how blurred they are, so lights bloom into bright discs. Large radii are sampled more coarsely, like the plugin’s Draft quality.
